Little Man!

My dear friend is a new mama, and I finally got to meet her handsome little man. I could barely put him down (only long enough to take photos, of course!). More to come, but a sneak!

They grow up too fast!

I know this mommy is wondering where the time has gone! Her little babies are growing into such beautiful young ladies. We had a great time walking around and taking photos in some sweet light and a great location. More to come, but for now, a sneak!

Urban Family Portraits, Southern Style

I love this location. So many colors, textures, and train tracks to boot! I love shooting a family portrait in a location where we get to walk around and test out new spots-- this allows me time to chat with the family between "takes" and really get to know them.

A small sampling :D If you are interested in a location like this or have one in mind for your family portraits, just let me know!

So much catching up to do!

I had portrait session in the park with a fun little guy and while chatting with mom she mentioned checking my blog, and I held my head in shame! I never knew how disciplined one must be to blog daily! But I am determined.

On to the photos. Pulled just a few from today's session. Such a blast! I think we spent more time playing then anything else.

So let me tell you a little about what's going on with me.

On January 27, my husband had a liver transplant. He'd been very sick for a very long time, and on that fateful Sunday he received a second chance at life. I am so thankful for organ donors. Without a new liver my husband would not have lived to see his son start kindergarten. He's doing extremely well now, and is recovering from the ordeal quite well. This summer he'll start training to compete in track and field again, one of his lifelong passions. I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to have him in my life and by my side. He is a wonderful father, and the love of my life!!!

Another very big thing happened in my life in December, 2007. My little baby turned five! I can't believe how mature he is. Seems like just yesterday he was this tiny baby squirming around in my arms and giggling with delight at the discovery of his fists, and now he's getting ready to start kindergarten in the fall!

Here is the other love of my life.

Textures.

I'm always trying out something new in the digital darkroom. I'm learning to work with textures, and tried some out on some photos I took a while back, just to see. I think I like! Adds an interesting artistic edge to my photos.

Dawn and Jim

A beautiful day for a wedding, indeed. Sunny and 60's in January this day, and I had a blast photographing Dawn and Jim's wedding.

(click on photo for a full sized, web optimized image)

Some details. I loved their colors.

I love flowers, especially with some natural light to help display them!

Dawn and Jim, stylin'.

The bridal party (fantastic, fun, and patient group who actually let me talk them into ring around the rosie. Then, I had them do a little hop for joy. This is the second attempt. They actually got it right the first time but it looked like so much fun the first time I had to have them do it again!).

It was such a peaceful and intimate ceremony, even in such a big church.

Dawn and Jim are very much in love, and it shows. I'm so happy for them.

Congratulations! And thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!
